Moving your office because of COVID-19? Here is what you need to know

As soon as the infamous Coronavirus landed in the United States, many companies had to shut down completely or work from home. Now as we slowly begin to re-open and adjust to a new way of living, we also must transition into a new way of working. The global pandemic forced everyone to change and different businesses had to adapt quickly. Some found the need to downsize while others had to expand to meet new social distancing guidelines.

Before your company transitions into a new or different office space, there are many details you will want to consider. First, you will want to make sure that all your employees personal belongings are properly handled. To avoid large numbers of people gathering in one place, set up a curbside pickup line where items can be safely handed over to their owners all from the comfort of their vehicle.

Second, you will want to make sure that all equipment and technology is handled with care. If your business has lots of delicate or heavy machines, you will benefit most from hiring a professional moving company. Moving services are equipped with all the necessary tools to safely transport sensitive or heavy objects. Make sure all delicate equipment is properly wrapped up well in advance to avoid any unnecessary close contact with the movers.

A best practice when handling items that are going to be moved is to always wear a mask and gloves. We all know that wearing a mask protects those around us, but you may not be in close contact with people when you are packing. It is still important to wear your mask when packing boxes that will eventually have to be unpacked. Germs thrive in dark and covered places so make sure you are properly geared up to protect the next person who will be handling the unpacking.

If your company is planning to work remotely from now on, you may want to consider selling or donating all items that will no longer be needed. If your company is moving to a new location, you will want to make sure the office has been properly disinfected before and after the move. Sanitizing the new area before the movers arrive, helps ensure the safety of our workers. After everything has been moved and put in place, a second decontamination will be beneficial to your employees before they arrive.

Packing Tips
August 19, 2021
No one likes unpacking a box when they get to their new place only to find broken or damaged items. When transporting delicate belongings, it is very important to make sure they are packaged properly to avoid costly replacements and potential danger. Here are a few ways you can minimize damages to your property in your next move Use quality boxes - free cardboard boxes are easy to come by, however these are not the boxes to be using when moving your china. Plastic totes or durable cardboard boxes are the best option to ensure safe transport. Make sure each item in the box is wrapped in bubble wrap or newspaper to avoid chipping on other objects. Don't overpack a box - While putting as much into a box as possible seems like a great way to save time and space, this will only hinder the moving process. Extra heavy boxes are prone to breaking or being dropped. Keep your boxes light when possible. Organize the insides of your boxes - The inside of your box does not have to be perfectly organized but creating some structure will help ensure safe transport. Use the heavy items such as books to create a base and then pack lighter items on top. Clothing - When it comes to packing up a house, the clothing inside closets and drawers can be the most time consuming. An easy way to combat this is by keeping your clothes on hangers and packing them inside trash can liners. Cutting a hole on the top allows for the top of the hangers to poke through for easy hanging when you get to the new place. Electronics - It is very easy for electronics to break during a move. wrap them securely with bubble wrap and make sure you have a box that can fit the entire device inside properly. It also helps to take pictures of the wires and chords before you unplug everything. This way you will have a photo to reference when reconnecting the device later on. Liquids - When moving liquid items such as shampoo, paint, or cooking oils, consider the potential damage that will occur when they leak. It is best not to put these items in cardboard boxes. Use a plastic box or grocery tote.

The Benefits of Utilizing a Storage Unit
January 20, 2020
Sometimes, it can be difficult to find space for all of your belongings in your home or business. Taking advantage of storage can be beneficial for a variety of reasons, including: Reduce Clutter & Increase Space Have a ton of items you don't use on a regular basis? Need to store the furniture that is unused in your office currently? Storage is a great solution! Whether you're holding onto items for later use, sentimental value, or are waiting for the right time to sell, storage can ensure those items are safe and sound until that time comes. Safety & Security Most storage facilities are equipped with advanced technology to ensure the property is secured and safe. This means that your items are under tight surveillance the entire time they are in storage. Valuable items, whether monetarily or emotionally valuable, are safer than if they were stored in a garage or basement. Holiday Storage It goes without saying that your holiday decorations only get used once a year. Therefore, storing them is the best way to get them out of the way and open up space for things you may need regular access to! Whether you have decorative holiday items for your home or business, storing them in a facility keeps them safe and out of the way until it's time to celebrate that particular holiday! Gap Between Move-Out & Move-In Dates In the event your move does not go according to the determined time frame, storing the items you don't need on a day-to-day basis can be helpful! You won't have to panic about where to store your items in the interim because they will be safe in a facility until your move-in date is set!
